We have all seen art invade social medias as they evolve.
If their primary usefulness was communication between people, now it is the self-expression that prevails! Self-expression means showing our lives by posts of what we do, what we eat, in clear, what we are. Many people express themselves by their creativity and their way to do somethings, which is considered as art in this social media’s era.
So, let’s see how people have invaded Instagram, Facebook and even Tik Tok by sharing their artistic sense.
I’d like to talk about my vision of this phenomenon that has taken a large part of social networks: tutorials.
Everyone in his life has ever used a model to do something that he didn’t know. And from my point of view, social medias have democratized tutorials a lot.
Sometimes, we can also find some DIY (Do It Yourself) tips that we didn’t that inspire us and give us the confidence to try to do something by our own and to develop our creativity.
Tutorials are more than a help for doing something, it’s also a kind of motivation because it shows that it’s possible, and generally it tries to prove you that it’s easy at the same time!
In clear, tutorials on social medias incite people doing things by their own and it often refers to their artistic sense. So, to me, by helping people to develop their capacity of doing somethings, social medias prove that more and more they relay art on a scale that never ceases to grow.

For this big article I made the choice to talk about art through social networks and to respond to our topic using my social networks. I think it's a good way to analyze all this. In story I posted a lot of questions :
I will translate the French responses. In fact, my community is mainly French, and this is why many respond and also the question is in French.
- What is art for you?
I have taken the best responses to illustrate the question.
“Art allows you to express yourself through a work, a dance or a song.”
“Our imagination”
“Art is a school subject, a passion, a hobby”
“Art is self-expression”
“Art is a unique and personal creation that does not necessarily fall within the criteria of « beautiful »”
“Art is a together, a way of thinking or a transmission.”
“Art is a way to mark history in its own way, a testimony of someone's feelings about something.”
- Do you think influencers are artists? (Yes / No) If yes, why?
- Could you post videos of you dancing or your work on social media? (Yes / No)
- Is using Instagram an art form for you? (Yes / No) write down why?
- For you to be an artist today means being present on social networks. (Yes / No)
- Can everything today be considered as art? (TikTok, tuto, song, graffiti, painting ...)? (Yes / No) If yes, why?
- Do you think social networks are the art of today? Are they connected? (Yes /No)
I have noticed that opinions are often quite divided on the questions. For instance, the question: Can everything today be considered as art? (TikTok, tuto, song, graffiti, painting ...)? (Yes / No) If yes, why? There are 22 no against 7 yes. Nevertheless, for many, the two areas are not necessarily linked. Everyone can live without one or the other. But social networks are relays for the diffusion of art. Indeed, I was surprised at the answers. I thank those who tried to justify each time their answers so that I understand better. it's true that I thought a lot of people would be more inclined to take my point of view, but I was wrong, and I may have discovered new aspects of art.

Expressing yourself and letting your body express itself has never been easier since social networks have become an integral part of our lives. Indeed, nowadays, the fear of ridicule has been replaced by the courage to dare. As a result, and for some time now, we have been able to discover new artists. People with sometimes unsuspected talents and who, thanks to some creative applications, came out of the shadows. Let's take a very concrete example: TIKTOK application. True global phenomenon of the moment, TIKTOK application has been able to awaken the souls of many hidden dancers. Creating artistic and visually appealing choreographies on any musical background: it’s the concept of this famous application. Already downloaded millions of times, the application is now known all around the world. Thus, today it is impossible to miss a TikTok video published on social media. The queen of this application: Léa Elui. This 19-year-old girl is the most followed French girl on Instagram with more than 11 million followers. She became known thanks to her talent as a dancer expressed through the TikTok application. Her success story is the perfect example of a network artist! Especially when we know that, before becoming known thanks to her original’s dances, Léa Elui was harassed in college and often very alone. Her creativity associated with social networks saved her!

Art multiplies with social networks.
With the networks we can make montages with a pre-existing work and transform it or even do a work of superposition of two pieces of art. With all the new technologies and retouching applications, image work, it becomes possible to perform many creative things.
You can play with eras by superimposing two offset works.
With the development of Instagram, we are constantly faced with art in all its forms. Some youtubers even sell art through their channels or in their "stories". They can promote the paintings with decorate their home by indicating the artist, the shop, the price etc.

We all know that social media is everywhere and also in the art world. For this last part of the article I will present you an Interview of a French florist, Vincent Le Marre. His at the start of his company and he work with dried flower, he made crow, bouquet and even home’s decoration. Florist isn’t his only activities. He works in free-lance with other florist and their fresh blossoms to create compositions for fashion show as an example. To make my interview I gave him some questions and he replied, also in writing. With the covid-19 and with all the work we have make an interview face to face or videoconference was impossible. (I join the interview, which is in French, and through my article I’m going to explain his though. I will also translate the interview for more clarity. After the article will appear the interview).
Vincent explain in this interview the great place social media takes in our lives and specially in the workplace. He uses social media every day, for him, if you want to share your art and talk about it you have to be expose (your work at least) on social media. It allows the brand to get a worldline exposure. Vincent add, that for him social media isn’t an art but “you have to add a great place to choices of the typography, colors, photo’s style, it’s the identity of your brand that come out”.
For my part I’m sharing Vincent’s though; social media help you to express whatever you want, and you have to pay attention to what you post and how you post it. Then, for a brand, nowadays, I think is more than important to have and work with social media. Like Vincent said “(social media) it’s a great showcase”.
Go follow His Instagram. I join also join you His Website to get stunning creations !
To conclude the article, I would say that’s we all have been given a different facet of this subject. I would add that all of us share commonalities but always with our differences, It’s the main goal of our blog, create content about art through social media, with our personalities and proper though to share and chat about it.
And we can all tell that’s social media isn’t an art… for the moment, what’s going to be in the future?
