Since the social networks appeared in the years 1995, they have evolved a lot. Because of this, nowadays, social networks hold an extremely important place in our lives. They are accessible everywhere and at any time. In addition, social networks are an inexpensive solution to stay in touch or simply have fun. On networks, everyone can express themselves freely and in different ways ... Art being one!
Indeed, since social networks are part of our lives, art has become more democratic. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest have become the new spaces where artists exhibit their works to the greatest number and for free. Everyone therefore have access to art. But at the end, with our social networks, haven't we all become artists somewhere?
Social networks have highlighted many artists. They are the mediators between the artist and his work. New forms of cultural production, dissemination and consumption have appeared. Basically, an artist is named as such, when he have a unique gift of creativity. However, today, social networks allow everyone to express their creativity and become a full-fledged artist. Art has become accessible and, so accessible, that the recognition of our works now determines and distinguishes real artists from amateurs. Standing out from the crowd is now the new art in the era of social networks. Developing our own style of art is essential, but succeeding in selling it is also important. Social networks have changed this form of sales. Art is now at the service of social networks. We sell our art online. At the same time, it is a real and formidable springboard to make ourself knownmore quickly, but also the best way to be copied. Art today has a form of racing. The race for views but above all the race for likes.
Ultimately, art is an opportunity that everyone can seize. Unlike artists of the past who communicated on their works only through word of mouth ; today, art has become viral and trendy : a digital art !
