Twitter: The art of titles!

Knowing how to arrange words in a maximum of 280 characters: isn’t an art?

Knowing how to write the perfect tweet at the right time and with the right words has become the "sinew of war" to exist on this social network. Reach readers with the help of the right words has become the object of many desires…

First of all, let’s talk about Twitter. Twitter is a social microblogging network. It allows a user to send, for free, short messages called "tweets". Twitter is known for real-time discussions on breaking news stories and trends.  Twitter appeared on March 21, 2006 with the first official post. In twelve years, the social network has become a web giant and has revolutionized the codes of communication. In 2007, Chris Messina, a user of the social network, proposed to the whole community to use the symbol “#” (hashtag) to group the conversations by subject. It is the first beginning of the power of "words". But it’s finally in 2016 that the importance of choosing the "right words" reached its peak. Indeed, in February 2016, Twitter have set up an algorithmic newsfeed which modifies the order of appearance for the tweets according to the relevance and the supposed interest of each one. This concept is called “Top tweets”.

Nowadays, Twitter wants everyone to have access to the best of what's happening on Twitter in an instant. By pressing the lightning symbol, you can see a list of events, news and announcements that are updated throughout the day. This means that if you want your tweet to be seen or read, it must be interesting. For being interesting, it must be useful, intelligent, relevant, well written ... To judge a text as a good text, it has to succeed in reaching its target. The art of the title is also the art of permanent adaptation because it’s in the diversity that interest arises. Twittering has therefore become an art. It is no longer just the art of writing, it is the art of writing well. Find the right words, the right topics, what will entertain, what will interest people. In short, you have to be inventive to stand out and become a real tweets artist.

To sum up my topic, I would say that writing relevant titles is therefore a real art in its own right. Writing allows us to bring letters to life and thus, it is an incredible way to explore our ability to transmit information: to succeed in capturing our followers!

Has tweeting become the 8th art?
