Culinary creativity amplified by social networks

Cooking is a good way to show our creativity: the mix of flavors, textures and colors form something considered as art. As every type of artistic work, cooking is the result of different associations, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
It’s exactly like painting: you can try to associate together as many colors that you have, but it’s not always beautiful enough to use it.
But if with other art you just have to watch to admire it, with cooking it’s completely different. In fact, cooking can be not only eating but also watching.
If before, cookers preferred the taste to the visual, since some years the physical aspect became more important. Indeed, social media have democratized this importance.
Everyone wants to be seen in their best light on their pics and this phenomenon has convinced cookers to do the same for their preparations. Nowadays, meals are more attractive because they are prepared with lot of precision to be tasty as much as beautiful.
Design has become very important in the world of cooking since the arrival of social networks.
Indeed, pastries and meals have invaded Instagram because it’s a really popular form of art, it’s accessible to everyone to try to prepare a nice meal as opposed to painting or sculpting a work, for example. So, trough social media, more people dare to share what they consider pretty and what they do in cook. Many amateurs hold accounts of cooking and pastries today because it’s way for them to show their art and even to share how they do that sometimes!
Thanks to social media some cookers can now promote what they do because even if we can’t eat it, the simple fact to watch it, is a kind of degustation and it makes you want to taste the dishes in real, so it’s a new form of advertising. For example, the famous chef Cedric Grolet who was crowned the best pastry chef in the world has just opened his first store in the Opera district in Paris, feeded an Instagram account before to tease people to come and buy his pastries.
So, we can say that the phenomenon of sharing our life by social networks has permitted to the world of cooking to increase. In fact, more people want to show a good image of their lifestyle, so they want everything to be beautiful and to make you want it, right down to their plate.
Thanks to social networks, the artistic side of the kitchen continues to be more and more attractive and stimulates people to reveal their talent.
